How was it? My dad g ave me a bottle of the exact same stuff back around 2008 , it had a county liquor tax seal on it circa 1976. It tasted like rotten bananas.

i hope this doesn;t go the same way. I’m going to have a very disappointed office if it does. This has been sealed so hopefully its better than rotted bananas

Cool, please report back on it! Really, I’m just hoping it hasn’t developed off-tastes or anything like that. Hopefully it’ll be good enough to get you guys buzzed (or more).

Whiskey does not age once bottled . Would be pretty sweat to turn a twelve year into a twenty five year.
As long as it is sealed you’re good. Alcohol is hydrophilic and will absorb water from air. Leave an glass of whiskey out overnight and have a taste the next afternoon. Taste like apple juice.

Mine was sealed as well, the problem (I think) was it sat in their basement bar which was near a window and so it saw a regular amount of sunlight in the afternoon.
I had a Chief in the Navy who got a ~50 year old bottle of unopened Jack Daniels from a neighbor who had quit drinking decades before and found it in his cellar. I tried it and I wasn’t a whiskey drinker at the time, but I remember it being smooth, and NOT tasting like bananas.
From what I' ve gathered in my experience, and talking to others, if whiskey is kept in a cool, dark place it will mellow. If its exposed to extreme temperatures and sunlight it will turn.
